I was given the opportunity to test and review Farberware Complements Stainless Steel and Nonstick 14-Piece Cookware Set. I was beyond excited when I found out I was going to receive this Cookware set. I absolutely love to cook. Having the right pots and pans makes all the difference in the kitchen. This set includes a pair of nonstick skillets, two covered stainless steel saucepans, a stainless steel Dutch oven, a cookie pan, and four Prestige® cooking tool essentials. My first impression, as I took it out of the box, was that they are smaller than I had expected. The nonstick skillets although very nice and yes nonstick are small and not much property for cooking especially for a crowd. The one they refer to as a Dutch oven is even smaller than what I have received with other sets.
As you can see from the above picture I was quick to make a meal in them after opening. I made Jasmine Rice in the large Saucepan, Butter Chicken in the Dutch Oven and Chana Masala in the Small Skillet. The small skillet was barely big enough to hold enough of the ingredients to feed four. I also used the small saucepan to boil the Chickpeas for the Chana Masala. That was a task as it barely held a cup of the Chickpeas and 2 cups water. But I wanted to use as many of the pieces in one meal for this test. I think I picked some pretty harsh recipes to make and test the quality.
The set came with glass lids which I really like and the saucepans and Dutch oven are dishwasher safe. The lid for the large saucepan has strainers. Although I didn’t use it with this particular dinner I know it’s a feature I will use a lot. I think it’s one of the features of this set I like the most. The cookie sheet like the rest is very small. I used it to warm Naan bread in the oven. This set also included some kitchen utensils, A slotted turner, slotted spoon, solid spoon, and pasta fork. These are very nice and heavy duty. I prefer to use wooden or bamboo utensils but these are perfect for serving.
Overall my thoughts on this set are it’s a very nice quality set. However, I think it’s more sized for a small family, a single person, college student. That is just my personal opinion on the size and someone else may feel differently. I just feel that especially the skillet was too small to cook something like fried chicken or the protein for a meal. I want my Cookware to have the essentials I need to complete the tasks of dinner making. I would give this set four out of five stars. It’s a great set that why I am giving it a higher ranking.
